I have a valid US passport. Will I need to purchase a tourist card from my departing airport? In Punta Cana? If so, how much is the card?

Is there an exit tax when leaving the DR?

Thank you.

  1. The only requirement to go the Dominican Republic is to have your valid passport and pay a $10 dollar Tourist card when you arrive at the airport and nothing more.

  2. Hi Chuck,

When arriving at the Punta Cana airport, you will fill a document and pay $10 us as tourist.

The day of the departure at the same airport you will pay $20us together at your check-in before departure.(if not included in your voucher)

  3. When you arrive in at the airport in Punta Cana you will need to purchase a tourist card visa for 10 US dollars. There is a 20 dollar departure fee, however, many US based airlines have this $20 built in the ticket price.
