Question:

Travelling to Suriname...ever been there??

I'm trying to decide between Peru, Bolivia and Suriname. Most people recommend I visit Peru, which is why I'd like to avoid it (I think it'll be a tourist trap). I like obscure places.

I'll be travelling alone (male, 23) so safety's a big issue. I'd like to spend most of my time in remote, natural destinations. The cheaper the better, and I think Suriname and Bolivia are certainly among the cheapest Latin American countries.

  1. Go to Bolivia i hear its wayyy better than Suriname

  2. I'm from Suriname so of course I will reccomend it. Safety I think is very good in Suriname, like any other country we have crime but if you stay in the tourist areas you'll be fine.  English is widely spoken so you'll have no problem communicating. I'm a city boy so I can't reccomend any "remote, natural destinations"

I will give you these websites so you can plan your trip. I just picked these sites from the web, I haven't used any of these tour operators, so I can't tell you if which one will give you the most bang for your buck.

Hope to see here you soon.
