Im gonna be going to Tijuana to travel, sightsee. What should I look out for?

Are the American wall outlets the same as Mexico's?

Where in Tijuana can I access the Internet using a computer? I wont be bringing a laptop.

What kind of cell phone pre paid brand should I buy?

  1. Look out for strangers looking at you before going to an ATM, they treat locals and tourists all the same, with contempt for your money, and don't drink water from the tap. As for  a prepaid cellphone, there are these stores called Oxxo that will sell you a cheap phone for about 300 pesos with 300 pesos of airtime, the carrier is telcel and  the brands vary by price, all the same though. Or you can buy one in the US for about the same but you won't be able to use it in MX. I'm not sure why you ask about the pre-paid phone. You should visit Revolution Ave. this weekend July 26 and 27, they are having the 9th annual TJ Beer Festival, its awesome.


  2. Outlets and voltage are exactly the same.

    Internet cafe's are all over the place (prices are from 1 to 4 Dlls per hour), and a lot of restaurants offer free wireless.  Not sure about the phone, some US carriers work close to the border (say a mile or so), others quit as soon as you cross into Mexico.
