Travelling to Tunisia in October, any life?

We are thinking of booking Tunisia for 2 weeks for October. Just wondering does anyone know if it is still lively that time of year and if the weather is still hot? We are from Ireland and NEED some sunshine!:-) We are looking for a holiday with lots to do during the day- not just sit by the pool/beach every day and that at night there are niteclubs & bars/entertainment. We are just wondering would Tunisia (Hammamet yasmine) offer that? We engaged couple in our twenties. Any help would be great!:-)

  1. i can answer on the weather. it' like a warm spring. lovely!! warm, cool in the evening. it is wonderful in October. my favorite season.

  2. weeather is great you can even swim in the sea! But it gets chilly in the evening so bring smth to put on when you are going out... As Tunisian Belle said both Hammamet and Monastir are very quiet but you can go to Sousse it's close and Port El Kantaoui a bit further, but it ' s great... Restaurants, discos, patiseries, shops... and of course Medina where you can hagle and finde beautiful jewlery !!

Hope you have a great time, Tunisia is  BEAUTIFUL, very  safe and charming country

  3. Ill be honest I really didnt like Tunisia, outside the hotels can be very intimidating they do not like Europeans at all. I was in its 3rd largest city also a resort and there were no clubs or bars except in the hotel. But at the same time I know a lot of people who loved it.

Whatever you do do not go on a  bus tour through the desert, seriously!

  4. October is a nice time to come because the weather is nice and warm and there is plenty that you can do. And there will still be PLENTY of sunshine!  :-)

You could check this site as it gets closer to your arrival day for up to date info:

    http://www.accuweather.com/world-index-f...

You can click to see temperatures in Celsius or Fahrenheit.

Weather Underground will search historical database for weather conditions in past years. The results will help you plan accordingly telling you how hot, cold, wet or windy it will be. http://www.wunderground.com/tripplanner/...

Another fun site to view is: http://www.weather2travel.com/climate-gu...

It gives the averages on different things from outside temperature to Sea temperature to hours of sunlight and more for different parts of Tunisia. Temperatures are listed in Celsius, but to view them in Fahrenheit, just hover your mouse over the temperature you would like to see.

Hammamet is pretty relaxed, and quiet. It is divided into two parts: The old city, and the new touristic city (called Yasmine Hammamet). The old city has it's charm because it has a nice medina and the city itself is wonderful to explore. Yasmine Hammamet is where most of the hotels are, and there is also an amusement park, restaurants and golf courses in Yassmine Hammamet as well. Here are websites that you may find useful (the last link will also give you links to various hotels):

One of the most popular discos in Hammamet is Calypso.

Hammamet usually attracts those who prefer peace and quiet to relax during the day. I would like to suggest for you to consider Sousse. Here is a link to a question I answered about Sousse:

Hotels also offer excursions to the south, or to other places of interest such as where famous movies were filmed. Some popular excursions include:

    *The ancient ruins of Carthage

*The Multiple Star Wars movie sets

*Matmata -a UNESCO world heritage site preserved for it's underground houses

*El Jem -houses the largest in tact Romen Coliseum outside of Italy

*Toezer -famous for it's use of yellow bricks and a filming location for The English Patient

    *The Sahara
