  1. You should go to Biarritz/Anglet. They have great beaches, but it is really hard to get around...you should get a Garmin.

  2. bibione in italy. you are by the water and you can go by car. it is pretty cheap. just try to avoid the german school brakes. than it gets really full. italiens are very child friendly. and we all know, the best food is in italy

  3. I would suggest heading into the austrian Alps.  During the summer, there are LOTS of open hotels, as they cater to skiing in the winter.  The drive is ok (max. 2 hours from Munich) and there are plenty of so-called "Sport Hotels" which offer plenty of family oriented activities.  It will be fairly inexpensive, only because there is a large supply of room and little demand (compared to the winter months).

Spain & Portugal will be quite expensive, as this is high-season in the classical summer vacation areas.  If you do want to go to Spain (which I would personally recommend over Portgal - maybe you even speak a little spanish as opposed to Portugiesisch), anywhere along the southern coast is ok.  Go to a travel agency before departing as these areas are heavily frequented in the summer.

  4. There are several lakes (e.g. Starnberger See) close to Munich, and also the Alps are nearby. Italy is not far away and in your place I'd think about going to South Tyrol (for mountains) and further to Venice (Adriatic Sea). To my experience most Italians are children friendly. I would not recommend taking a flight to Spain or Portugal if you want to spend only 4-5 days there. Venice with all its bridges and channels is great to experience, even for children. I've been there as a child!

  5. You should come and visit us in Canada, Direct flights for Germany and so much more 'new world' Plus your euro is worth almost $2 cdn :)

    Guten tag!

  6. Ok, check out the German Museum in Munich (lots of "hands on" for the kids) The Olympia Park (72 Olympics) Schloss Schoenbrunn (Castle in Munich) The english Garden (may run into some nudes) Schwabing, the artists hang-uot in Munich (its part of th city) The BMW Museum close to the Olympic Park (u can see it from there) go on the A8 north towards Augsburg nad you'll end up in Legoland. Not recommended for kids, but good to see for yourself is the konzentrationcamp in Dachau (which is on the way to Augsburg, as soon as you leave Munich heading north)

For hanging out at the beach: Chiemsee, Stanberger See, Walchen See and lots of others surround Munich, all within an 1-2 hour drive on the Autobahn.

Germans are extremely child friendly and will be happy to help you find activities which will be fun for u and the kiddos!!!

    I am jealous!!
