Travelling without parental permission?

Question

I'm 16 years old & want to leave home to travel to a different country & stay with friends for a few months at their apartment. I want to go to practise my Spanish skills, indulge in the culture & spend time with my close friends. My parents are not keen on me doing this but I really want to go, I have saved up enough money to cover my flights & everything...would I be able to travel legally even if my parents didn't want me to?

I think you should respect your parents permission on this. Your underage and want to leave the country! I believe in expanding your horizons but you need to do it in the right way for your own protection. It sounds like you want to go to Mexico. There are travel warnings in Mexico for tourist right now.

yea absolutely but make sure you leave a note or something so they dont call the cops looking for you thinking you ran away but yeah as long as you have the money just go buy the ticket and if you know how to fly on a plane go ahead and have fun =p

If you are under 18 you have to have a signed, notarized letter to leave the country without at least one parent/guardian.

you will get in trouble. i don't know if its legal or not.

you should bring all your facts to the table. tell your parents that you've saved enough money, where you'll be staying, how long you'll be there, what you'll be doing, and that it may be your only chance to do it.

you would need an ID, passport etc to travel. you should talk your parents into letting you go, it will be easier. plus, if you don't then they can report you as a runaway, which will shorten your vacation.

nope you cannot travel without your parents permission. Do you have a passport ? This especially matters when you travel across country.
