  1. Travellers cheques - most of the tourist attractions accept them as cash anyway and they are safer.

  2. i would say cash and a credit or debit card.

  3. It depends on how security minded you are.  I tend to take only dollars when I go away and then use my plastic to buy things or take out cash from the hole in the wall.  I havent used travellers cheques in years.

  4. take travelers cheques or possibly even a prepaid credit card.  Don't take currency.

  5. The first time i went to florida i took all t/cheques by the end of the first week i was fed up showing id every time i bought something.

so if i was you take probably half your spends in t/cheques, a few hundred $ in cash and your cards.

personally i mostly take $ now and hire the safe when i get to the hotel, cards as back up. Its a bit easier to keep track of how much you are spending i think and a lot less hassle

    hope this helps

  6. Most places still take travelers cheques, but a lot of smaller places are starting to refuse them.  You should be ok at most places in Orlando, but you should probably have some cash or credit cards just in case you need them.  I don't know how it works in reverse, but when I have traveled out of the US, I always found the best exchange rate was on my credit card.

  7. cheques dude sterling ones coz pound is quite strong against the dollar

  8. If you really like traveler's checks, I think you should consider a mix of both.  It's easiest to spend cash or use plastic in the U.S., though.  Some places don't really want traveler's checks, although Orlando is probably going to be friendlier about that than other cities in the U.S.   My friends from Liverpool brought a bit of both (actually quite a bit of USD) along with credit cards.

  9. Take about $50 in cash to help get around. However, most places in the US do accept travellers cheques as payment.

What I tend to do is carry about $50 when I first arrive and then just withdraw cash using plastic. It's more secure (unless of course you give away your PIN).

  10. Take both.

    More cheques than cash.

Cheques can be replaced if lost or stolen cash can't!

Get them in US dollars to avoid having to pay an currency exchange fee.

DO NOT get in denominations higher than $100 anything higher will be harder to exchange.

Photocopy of passport will be ok for id if asked.

They usually don't ask if signatures match.

  12. Travellers cheques are expenisve to buy - you pay commission to buy them and they usually give you the amex rate -1/2 %. Best plan is to have Nationwide Bank account and use their debit card to get cash in USA from atm's, use credit card to pay for purchases. Why? Well no fees for using either and in both cases you will get the midrate for currency exchange - not the amex tourist rate. This means you get around 4% more US dollars for every pound you spend!
