  1. No, you can't usually buy lobsters at the roadside anymore, except in a very few places.  There are still a few fish merchants in Newfoundland who set up by the roadside in a few locations - at the "overpass" and at Churchill Square in St. John's.  Both are excellent places to buy lobsters.

In New Brunswick try the wharf at Pointe du Chene near Shediac.  Ask around there and people will be able to tell you where you will find the best buys in lobsters, and the best lobsters.

If you go to PEI you will find fish markets in most areas where you will be able to buy lobsters.

Overall throughout Atlantic Canada look for specilaty fish markets and fish shops.  They will have the best lobsters.  Most fishermen now sell to companies so it is harder to find lobsters at dockside, but it can still happen.  You will need to ask the locals when you are there.  Best of  luck and enjoy your trip.

  2. Everyone should travel to experience different places and cultures.

yes you can still buy from the dock if you find the right place. most towns just go to a pub or a coffee shop and ask the owner they will tell you how /who to purchase from.

The east coast of Canada is beautiful and you should have a great time

  3. I'd like to mount a campaign to encourage people not to go anywhere. Travel has become so expensive and unpleasant that it's hard to understand why people don't stay home.

Why are we crowding our highways and airports to get someplace else? Newspapers and magazines are filled with ads trying to get us to travel. They want us to go somewhere - anywhere but home.
