Travis Pastrana talks about Nitro Circus Live before hitting Las Vegas
After conducting a few shows in Australia and New Zealand over the last one year, 'Nitro Circus Live' is headed to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, USA, on 4 June. This will be
the first time for the live show, which is a touring version of the MTV smash hit series, Nitro Circus, to perform on the American soil. The stop at Las Vegas will also serve as the stage for a segment of the filming of the 3-D Nitro Circus movie that is scheduled
to be released by February next year.
Recently, the legendary extreme-sport athlete, 17-time X Games medallist in FMX and founder of the Nitro Show, Travis Pastrana of USA, talked about the explosive touring sensation that
will be making a premiere in Las Vegas as well as in the upcoming Nitro Circus movie.
Talking about his inspiration to bring the live show to Las Vegas this year, Pastrana said that after the show managed to become a huge hit among the Australian and New Zealand crowd,
he along with the crew decided that it was time for them to bring the show to USA. With so much sports and entertainment in America already, the show’s crew have their work cut out for them to impress the people and make themselves really stand out. However,
their success over the last year makes them feel that they are ready to take the American public on.
Pastrana said, “We have some incredible stunts planned for the
Nitro show in Vegas which have never been performed before anywhere in the world and are unlikely to be attempted ever again.”
The 27-year-old Maryland-based extreme-sports athlete explained that they attempt to create an environment very much similar to that of X Games, but in a safer atmosphere. The safety measures
not only cut down the probabilities of injuries, but also allow the crew members to pull off stuff that they normally would not attempt because of the risk involved. Unlike X Games, there are no fixed standards for the ramps. This allows them to adjust ramps
according to the varying requirements of the various performers, adding additional features to the ramp. This gives them the opportunity to push themselves further and do whatever they want to do to help develop the sport.
The Sin City will also serve as the stage where a portion of the upcoming 3-D Nitro Circus movie will be shot. Excited about the film, Pastrana said that it has been a real learning experience
and they had real fun filming it using 3-D cameras.
As the Nitro Circus Live heads-off to Las Vegas to make their debut in America, they will be accompanied by X Games Big Air gold medallists. These include the Australian skateboarder,
Jake Brown, America’s BMX rider, Chad Kagy, and the FMX athlete, Cam Sinclair.
The Australian and New Zealand tour had remained a sold-out feature on all three occasions in the last year. Getting the show recognized as the 'greatest live action sports show of all
time' for its impressive choreography in skateboarding, BMX and FMX.
Even though Las Vegas is just the first stop and more stops will follow, Pastrana said, “If you can go to one show, Vegas will be the one. We're building new contraptions and coming up
with stunts and tricks no one has tried before.”
The tickets for the event, which is going to be held at MGM Grand Garden Arena, is already made available to the public from 11 April.
