Travis Pastrana turns into fashion icon for GQ magazine
Travis Alan Pastrana, the legendary motorsports competitor and stunt performer, seems to know no limits. While the action sports athlete has been showcasing his motorsports skills for over a decade now, he has recently decided to expose his modelling skills.
The May issue of GQ magazine is featuring Pastrana in some of the finest threads in a six-page fashion spread.
The 27-year-old Maryland-based rider is seen sporting the season’s latest suit fashions in the six-page spread. Pastrana’s potential to transform from an exciting athlete to a pure hunk is something that must have definitely taken the world by surprise.
Even though many would have preferred to see Gisele Bundchen sport the latest suit fashions instead, there are few who would argue with the statement that the latest images of Pastrana were extremely cool and earned him even more respect for his, what seem
to be, boundless versatility.
The FMX rider's GQ images were shot by Peggy Sirota, one of the most talented photographers in the world. She has shot images for magazines such as Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone and many others.
The fashion spread is accompanied by an article written by Josh Dean. The article serves is comprised of a 1000-word profile of Pastrana. The article follows the star as he prepares to pull off a stunt on the Long Beach Harbour’s giant empty hanger.
The writer of the article has managed to touch all the basics, such as the Nitro Circus 3D feature film that will be getting released in the near future, as well as Pastrana’s recent NASCAR bid. The article also talks about his record number of X Games medals
and the injuries.
The one thing prominently missing from the article is the detail about the “stunt” that Pastrana was pulling in the hangar on Long Beach harbour. Dean stated in the article that he is not allowed to reveal what the motorsports athlete was doing in the hangar.
Pastrana likes to keep his tricks a secret and only unveils at them at the appropriate time.
Dean said that all he can reveal is that the trick involved some extremely strange preparations, “While set builders, engineers, and film-production people work busily in the background, Pastrana steps into a harness fitted with two bungee cords, which are
attached to a five-story metal scaffold.”
While there are endless possibilities to what the 27-year-old may be doing in the hangar, one thing is for certain. The trick would be nothing short of mind-boggling and spectacular. Even the rumours about the triple back-flip may turn out to be true considering
its Pastrana, the superman of action sports.
The issue of GQ with Pastrana’s photo-spread is on newsstands through May 24. Whether you’re looking for some fashion inspiration, or want to see what the entire commotion about Pastrana’s limitless versatility is, the latest issue is recommended to you.
