Traxxas slash transmission help

Question

i bought a traxxas slash a few days ago and i was running it in loose/fine gravel and the transmission started making a horrible grinding noise. this is my first "hobby class" rc car and i dont know much about it. i couldnt even figure out how to get the transmission casing off. the truck runs fine, as if nothing was happening, it just makes a really loud grinding noise. help please?

Could be a multitude of things,your clutch shoes,your spur gear,the clutch bell,call the Traxxas place and ask a tech,plus go to there site and look at the exploded veiw of the tranny.
