Treasure Beach completes a workout at Meydan under jockey Jamie Spencer
Treasure Beach looks in stellar form, all set to compete in the Dubai Sheema Classic at Meydan on 31st March, 2012. Trained by Aidan O’Brien, the four-year-old colt has shown remarkable progression, and will be aiming for a
claimed finish.
The young runner was mounted by Jamie Spencer for the first time at Meydan on the main Tapeta track on 29th March, 2012, as part of his training for the big day.

Spencer told the press that "He just did a gentle canter. They are all fit and well and Aidan is happy with them. I'm looking forward to the night and it is a great concept." The exercise was not strenuous, and the purpose was to test the runner’s
form, which Spencer was pleased with.
The son of Galileo, out of Honorine, succeeded in the Grade 1 Secretariat Stakes at Arlington on 13th August, 2011, which he entered as a favourite with the odds of 6 to 4. Under jockey C. O’Donoghue, he was prominent from the
beginning.
He soon tracked the leaders and gained speed with 1 ½ furlong remaining on the outside, and took a narrow lead as he defeated, Cheers Joy, by a neck.
Mounted by the same jockey, he suffered a major setback in the Qatar Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe (3YO + Colts, Fillies & Mares) at Longchamp on 2nd October, 2011, where he finished fourteenth in a line-up of sixteen runners.

He led the race in the beginning, but lost pace and showed signs of exhaustion towards the end.
Redemption was not far for the young runner, as he secured a placed finish in the race that followed. He stood third in the Grade 1 Pattison Canadian International at Woodbine on 16th October, 2011. He raced as a favourite with
the odds of 18 to 5, and finished 2 lengths after runner-up, Joshua Tree.
Jim and Fitri Hay purchased a share in the young runner from the Coolmore partners, and he will be racing in their colours in the World Cup. The colt, who was whelped on 25th March, 2008, shows tremendous promise as his winning
prospects look bright entering this race.
