My kids gave me their pinkeye! But I have glaucoma, and they are being treated with drops, and from reading the label, I probably shouldn't take them. Or can I?

  1. Even if you didn't have glaucoma, you can't take your kids medication. For a few reasons:

    1. The dosage will be different, and it may not be effective on you.

    2. Even if you're pretty sure it was your kids who gave you pink eye, you need to go to the doctor to find out what strain it is and get the medication for that particular strain. You can do some bad things with drug resistant bacteria by using the wrong medication. Also, you may not even have pinkeye. A doctor needs to check.

    3. If it says on the label that you shouldn't take them with glaucoma, you shouldn't take them with glaucoma! End of story.

Just go to the doctor and he/she will tell you what to do.
