Question:

Treatment for jelly fish sting.

I was stung by a jelly fish two weeks ago. The life guard sprayed it with vineger and the pain went away. However, there are still a bunch of raised bumps where the rash was. They are not discolored and they don't itch or hurt.

How long before the bumps go away?

  1. in reality.  You just gotta p**s on it.  It makes a positive reaction.

  2. You can use a meat tenderizer paste on the bumps, or hydro-cortisone cream will help the bumps go away.

If you wait, it might take about 2 weeks and they will be gone for good

  3. you might have had an alergic reaction. if it doesnt get better maybe a doctor should check it out.

  4. vinegar does the trickkk

    for jellys and sting rayss

  5. Vinegar was the right first aid treatment. there is some debate about using meat tenderizer, but it was the treatment of choice with among ship mates thirty six or so years ago, and we got lots of jelly fish stings. I suspect that hydrocortisone cream after the redness goes down a bit is a good idea. DON"T rub or scratch it. Try this link, it seems sensible and informative, although it knocks the tenderizer treatment option.

I don't know how long it will take the bumps to heal, but the hydrocortisone cream may hasten the process.

  6. Sounds weird, but you are supposed to urinate on the wound.
