Treatment of Sore mouth for goats?

i think my goats and my sisters goats have sore mouth on their mouths/chin area and one also may have it on her udder. What is the best treatment for sore mouth? How serious is sore mouth? I think one of the scabs busted and got blood all over my hands, so i washed my hands very well with soap and water. Am I at risk of developing sore mouth? What prevention efforts do i need to make so i don't get sore mouth? Please HELP!

Contagious ecthyma is a viral disease.aka sore mouth,of, scabby mouth and CONTAGIOUS PUSTULAR DERMATITIS'S. this is painful thick scabby sores on lips and gums this runs its course in 1-4 weeks but may extend when secondary infections occur.Feed intake will drop and animals will loose weight. Some can be transmitted to a doe If a kid is still suckling , this is also painful for the doe and she will not let baby continue any longer.This could cause mastitis in the doe This can be passed to entire heard as well.Scabies containing virus can be passed threw environment, milking items bedding's, the lesions are crusty and may be secondary infections with bacteria such as staphylococci and others.Mostly the lips and gums are infected but can also infect face, ears,coronary bands, s*****m's, teats,v***a's, necks, chest and flanks.This virus is strong and can survive periods away from host in forms of dried scabies from infected animals. Recovery from this disease gives the animals a immunity for at least a year, very young kids who are severely infected may die.May need to apply an ointments for them to eat its very important for animals to eat and drink.Antibiotics may be used if this is secondary. If have some does who are infected milk them last.May want to apply antiseptic to udders after the milking.

Be fore you decide to get vaccines should speak to your vet to be sure you have right vaccine.and other treatment options as well.Disinfection of the pens have to be cleaned this is a recommended in case you decide not to vaccinate all goats.

This can infect people as well, anyone who has goats  and treat or are around alot  giveing meds, vaccanations, bottle feeding, tube feeding, shearing, petting, or casual contacts, with infected equipment almost any thing that is in contact with the goats you can get infected with.

Working without gloves on with open sores cuts being biten will get you infected for sure.Alot is tranismitted threw salvias. Some animals are carriers  and show no sign of this disease so best be careful around all animals.
