Trebuchets building?

Hi all.

I want to build a large-ish trebuchet that can hurl baseballs about as far as your average outfield pop fly in 15U or 18U baseball. (It would be a kind of dual-purpose project; 1, trebuchets are cool, 2, bball practice.) Where can I get instructions? What kind of advice should I have? Should I build a smaller model first? ( I have built a small trebuchet out of bamboo skewers, and it works fine but I can't get the sling working.) Help me out please, I'm pretty much a beginner.
