I have an essay to write about chapter 30 in T.G.I.B. I need some help understanding what my teacher means. He says to analyze the opening diary entry ("Today, I am a woman," wrote Francie in her diary..."). Francie has just finished 7th grade, but on a summer day she finds herself propelled from girlhood to womanhood, experiencing a world of thoughts and feelings along the way. My teacher says to list emotions that arouse in us while reading, and then it says to "write a response essay about one instance in the chapter that stirred the strongest chain of feelings and thoughts." Can someone maybe give me some "starting sentences" on how to start this off? I'm kind of confused and need some help. Thank you! (by the way, I am not asking you to write my essay, just give me some ideas and ways to start it off, and maybe some key point I may want to know) Please try and use examples from the book!
