Tree in my garden how can i trim the branches?

i tired a hedge trimmer and the branches are too thick. what can i use to trim the branches as there is no sunlight getting into my garden

chain saws are fun!  if you want more sunlight and you want to keep the tree, I suggest cutting the outermost branches, it'll  convince the tree to grow up instead of out.  Try growing more shade loving plants, then you'll have wonderful back yard shade and a beautiful garden.

torch them they will burn down but hopefully it want burn down your other plants thats why u should drench the other plants in water first and the tree with gasoline

Buy yourself an inexpensive hand saw if the branches are less than 3" thick.   If the branches are thicker go to the largers sizes.  Know all your safety rules before you hire or buy a chain saw.  They're one of the commonest ways to end up in hospital.  

If its very large or a big job may be best to get a quote for a professional job.

The chain saw is probaby the best possibility because you can purchase them at walmart, Lowes or Big Lots for under $50

You will have to purchase a heavy duty extension cord at least 100 feet long .......

I cut down a 30 foot tall tree with a 14" size....4 years ago have pictures to prove it.....I was 66.......the neighbors had a good time watching me and laughing and could not believe I did it.  That is determination.
