  1. Trees are resistant to various insects without "Genetic Modifications" -- the proof is in the pudding, so to speak -- if they weren't resistant to insect enemies, they wouldn't be around for us to talk about them. ;)


  2. It is possible with what we call Genetic Modifications.. that is how some plants actually have genes of animals to be resistant to some diseases that affect that particular plant...

    EDIT: Bugs well... they can be GMed to have genes which could create trees that excrete smell unfavorable for a specific bug...
