Im looking at purchasing a Trek WSD 1.2 road bike, but i know it's low entry level and its components aren't all that great, any current owners or bike buffs think this is still a good buy? It would be my first road bike upon purchasing.

  1. Try the bike out. Don't go overboard and buy something outrageously priced. The 1.2 is a good entry level bike to ride. Most likely you will train on this bike and take leisurely rides. When you get better and maybe one day do some racing then purchase a higher level bike. Trek has one of the best warranty in the market. And if you want, you can trade in a Trek for another Trek.

  2. I think this would be a good choice for an entry level road bike.  Its not fancy but it will get the job done.  A more expensive bike doesn't make riding anymore fun.  being fit makes it more fun.  Just ride.

  3. As long as it fits you good and you can ride the bike for extended periods without developing discomfort, you are already ahead.  And definitely light-years ahead of an ill-fitted heavy Walmart jobbie.

    Good luck, and enjoy!

  4. There are other choices out there. But, by all means, do test ride the WSD 1.2.
