  1. stayed there once, the starfish, all-inclusive stay,  but in the middle of nowhere.  boy, sure got dull after going to the little disco room they had there and watching the kareoke singers.  nice rooms, liked how they were constructed with the use of the wood planks.

  2. Don't go to the Starfish - like someone said earlier its in the middle of no where.

I go every year to the Royal Decameron Club Caribbean in Runaway Way - its excellent and very near to Ocho Rios.

  3. Seems so now.

I went there when it was called Trelawny Beach and all the rooms faced the Caribbean, however they may have added other rooms....I just loved it!

Its in Falmouth away from the tourist crowds too...Run into the town and see what a real Jamaican town is like!

  4. It's the same hotel. I'd rather go to another one. It does not have much around it to see. There is just a lame tour called the Outameni experience right next to it. It sucks.

  5. They are the same resort. Trelawny Beach is the old name.

I've been there, but not for a long stay. Seemed like a decent resort. My only problem was that it was a bit far from the rest of the world.

  6. The name of the Hotel was changed from Trelawny Beach to Starfish, which I think is a bit tacky cause Starfish sounds like the name of a night club.Well the Hotel is right between the major towns of Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, there's really nothing to do in Trelawny because it's basically a country town.If you want to have fun outside of the Hotel you'll have to get the services of a good driver recommended by your hotel to take you around.Places I suggest you should visit are Negril,Ocho Rios and Montego Bay.

  7. Its true, there is a Trelawny Beach AND Starfish beach, but the latter is private & for hotel guests only. You can pay to use their beach, but you'll pay the high prices as well for the drinks and food. Trelawny beach is sorta dirty and mosquitos are ALL over that area...to include Starfish Hotel. Its also true that its in the middle of nothing, Falmouth is 15 minutes to the west & is a cool little town, but nothing to do but shop & eat. Duncons is 15 minutes to the east & is ALOT smaller town with nothing to do or see.....

However, just down the road from Duncons is Silver Sands, an absolutely BEAUTIFUL beach that again, you'll pay to use ( Its on a property full of private villas ) but well worth the money. Laid back, has a bar & a few rentals like umbrellas, chairs, and water toys. The sand is pristine & like sugar. Of all the beaches in Jamaica, THIS one tops the list & is not well known, so still not bombarded with tourists.

  8. i trelawny beach is now starfish.like every one said .. but the reason  for  me answering . its the misconception about that party of trelawny there is things to do . it not  more 30 mins from mo-bay ... trelawny has Martha brae river which is beautiful for rafting you can buy  craft items .duncans trelawny has  sivlersand beach .. starfish aka  next to it  . where locals roast fresh. you can buy fresh fresh here ... there is things to do in trelawny.. i was born here n i am proud ....
