Tremlett ready for challenge
Surrey and England fast bowler Chris Tremlett says he is ready for the challenge of playing in the Ashes this winter.
Tremlett has been included in the 16-man squad to play Australia in five Test matches starting on 28 November. He took 48 wickets for Surrey over the course of the season to force his way into the Ashes
squad.
Tremlett has played Test cricket before and will look to build on his experience. He took 13 wickets in three Test matches against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in 2007. However, he lost his place in the England side due to inconsistency
and injury.
He is now bigger and stronger than ever before and there are many reasons why he should do well in Australia. However, he will be seen as a weak link by the Australians who will be looking for an England
player to target.
Many qualities
Tremlett has many qualities as a fast bowler. He is tall and quick, which will make him productive on flat Australian wickets. Fast bowlers have to get bounce to attack batsmen when the ball is not moving
off the seam. He is quick enough to average around 90 miles per hour.
Tremlett thrives on confidence and this will be high after his successful season playing for Surrey. He knows how to get good batsmen out and this will give him some fresh tactical ideas about how to attack
the likes of Michael http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 and Ricky Ponting.
Accuracy is very important for fast bowlers playing in Australia. Former Aussie great Glen McGrath was not fast but he knew how to bowl in the same place every over. This is something Tremlett does over
long matches and it should lead to a lot of wickets.
He said: "I've played pretty much all season without an injury which is in itself a big positive for me because I
don't think I've ever got through a full season without picking up some injury, that is a big point.
Also, I feel I'm a much better bowler than I was a couple of years ago, even when I did play for England."
A target
There is no doubt that the Australians will target Tremlett as a weak link. This is because he is coming back into a successful England team. England also has good bowlers
in Graeme Swann, Stuart Broad and James Anderson that will keep things tight.
This means the Australian top order will have to target someone and Tremlett could be the person. He is bound to be a little bit nervous before an Ashes game and this is
something the Australians will exploit.
He added: "I've loved every minute with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Surrey-c851. There have been a few ups
and downs team-wise but personally I've loved the boys and coaching staff, everything about Surrey has been brilliant.
(England) wasn't really on my radar, although something I had in the back of my mind at some point was to get back into the England set-up."
Betting advice
Tremlett has everything a bowler needs to do well in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746. Don't be afraid to take a punt on him taking five wickets in one of the warm-up games or first two Ashes
Test matches.
England seems to be much better prepared than ever before for an Ashes series. The controversy of the summer series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 will be dealt with and then laid to
rest long before the first Ashes Test in Brisbane.
Back England to win the Ashes this winter by a score of 2-1. The series will be tight but England has just a bit more quality than the Australians. This will tell over
a five match series.
