While speaking to media reporters ahead of the home fixture against Super Kings, the KKR head coach said that the players were hurt and embarrassed after losing the close match to Punjab. However, he insisted that despite all that disappointment, his players were geared up for the Chennai encounter.
“I think the boys in the dressing room were hurt after the game. They realised that they had let one slip away,” Bayliss said at the pre-match press conference here at Eden Gardens on the eve of the match.
“It was good to see the hurt on their faces because you could see it meant that much to them. They were embarrassed by the way they let that game slip. But, I don't think there will be a problem in the effort they put in the game (against Chennai),” the KKR coach went on to add.

"The games we played against Chennai last year were all nail biting finishes and we look forward to a similar contest (on Saturday) as well," said Bayliss.
Asked about the lower middle order’s collapse against Kings XI http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 in the previous game, Bayliss said that it was the time for the middle order batsmen to step up and come up with crucial contributions.
“The batting has been a bit of a problem. In twenty over games sometimes, players do not get much of an opportunity to bat in the middle and it is tough to get in touch when you are not there for all that long,” said the home coach.
“Last year we got a lot of runs at the top of the order and to be honest we need a lot of runs from the bottom three or four. They need to come up with those crucial fifteens, twenties and thirties in short space of time in the end which will get us to a good score. Once they start hitting the ball in the middle, am sure their form will come," Bayliss concluded.
