Pathan has been a brilliant performer in franchise cricket since the inception of IPL in 2008. The team management has so far shown faith in the skills of Pathan and is hopeful that he will find back his lost form. Bayliss, who is an integral part of the think-tank, expressed that Yusuf will fire in the crucial matches and still feels that the right-handed batsman is a genuine match-winner.
Yusuf usually comes into bat with very few overs left and the former Australian cricketer believes that this is the reason why he has not been able to play a big knock so far.
Bayliss expressed, "I am sure with the player of his caliber; he would be there for us in the big matches. He has not had much of opportunities. It's difficult in Twenty20 to get going without spending some time in the middle. The middle-order probably had some lack of runs but that's only because of lack of opportunities.”

“We have been scoring runs at the top. We still need to improve in all the departments. We have played some very good cricket ever since we lost the first two games in all the departments,” he added.
