Trevor Bayliss takes over as KKR chief coach – Cricket News Update
Former Sri Lankan coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Trevor-Harley-Bayliss-c94335, has been appointed as chief coach of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the fifth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), starting in April 2012.
Bayliss’ appointment came in the wake of the ex-coach Dav Whatmore’s resignation from the post. Whatmore is now eyeing the coaching position of the Pakistani team.

The Kolkata management has welcomed the big man, and hoped that the side will display an excellent show under his command.

"The team, the support staff, the owners and management are outstanding and I look forward to working with everyone and striving for the highest honours," added the former Australian domestic cricketer who has the experience of playing 58 first-class games.
Under Sourav Ganguly’s captaincy, the Knight Riders failed to perform well in the opening three editions of the lucrative league. However, the Gambhir-led KKR side gave out an excellent show in the previous season and reached the knockout round of the tournament.
As a result of their terrific work in the Indian T20 league, the Riders qualified for the Champions League T20 for the first time.
