Trevor Fisher Jr. leads the Nashua Golf Challenge
Trevor Fisher Jr. posted a five under 67 and will heading into the final round of the Nashua Golf Challenge leading by two shots. The player clearly had the best round of the day which put him at seven under par over all. Two shots behind the leader is Adilson
Da Silva, at Sun City’s Gary Player Country Club.
The previous leader of this Sunshine tour event, Andre Cruse is sharing third place with birthday boy Darren Fichardt at four under par. The player posted a 68 and hence, has the second best score after Fisher.
Fisher said while speaking to reporters, “I didn't hit the ball at all well today, but I got the putter working well. I did hit it well in the first round, so I hope I can combine the two properly in the final round.”
“Nine was terrible; I had 212 to the flag. I just got a little bit tense on the shot and I didn't quite catch it. It hit a rock in the water and came back. I hit quite a nice lob shot over the trees but then three-putted, so I wasn't too happy with that
finish.” He added.
The player made seven birdies and two bogies, with one of them coming on the 545 meter par-five ninth hole. Fisher started on the back nine and did well as he made a birdie on the eleventh hole. Making a bogey on the twelfth, the player overcame the slip
by making back to back birdies on the fourteenth and fifteenth hole. His remaining nine holes were decent with four birdies and one bogey.
The fresh player on the course, Dean O’Riley made a 73 and is sharing seventh place at one under par over all. The player said that once the ball goes in the rough, it’s really hard to get it. Surely this would have been the problem the rookie faced and
thus, couldn’t do so well in the tournament.
The current leader, Fisher knows how tricky the golf course is and will try to play smart in the final round. Doing so well throughout the tournament, the player wants to make his efforts worthwhile and win the Nashua Golf Challenge.
