Trevor Theroulde appointed as new head coach of Panthers – Volleyball news
As an acknowledgement to his great contribution to the Florida International University women’s volleyball programme, the assistant coach Trevor Theroulde has been promoted to the new position of team head coach.
The FIU Executive Director of Sports and Entertainment Pete Garcia confirmed the news, while the new mentor took over the charge on Friday, April 20.
Theroulde expressed great delight about the decision of FIU management. He thanked everyone who believed in his ability to take up the challenging role. He said, “I want to thank Pete Garcia and (Senior Associate Athletics Director and Senior Women's Administrator)
Julie Berg for this great opportunity. I am looking forward to the opportunity in guiding FIU volleyball to even higher levels of success.”
The Executive Director Garcia also has his say about the new coach and team’s future strategy. He stated, “Our goal is to be one of the perennial powers in the state of Florida and in the nation. We want to become a staple in the NCAA Tournament year in
and year out. I'm excited to get started and to create a new path of success for FIU volleyball, surpassing the strong foundation that has already been established. We're excited to have Trevor Theroulde as our new head coach for volleyball.”
Theroulde has years of the experience in his repertoire. He has been attached with the sport of volleyball for over fifteen years.
However, it’s been only four years that he accepted the position of assistant coach at the Panthers Volleyball Programme. Since he became the part of the FIU Volleyball, he contributed a whole lot of success to the team. The team members and management is
quite aware of his leadership qualities. That is why he has been given the influential role of head coach of the Panthers.
The Panthers finished the previous season with an overall record 20-10 and there is a lot of room for improvement. The FIU has the plans to become one of the top teams of the region. Now that Theroulde will be working as full time head coach, the team is
likely to live up the dream of becoming the top force in Florida State.
