Question:

Tri Bars and Areo Helmets???

Im thinking about getting a set of Tri Bars and an Areo helmet for my time-trials - please help me - how much better are they?

Any good makes??

  1. Aero bars are great! Aero helmets will only show improved times if you're going over 20 miles an hour. The AirStryke by Profile design is very nice because the forearm rests flip up (they're on springs) and leave room for you to grap the handlebar right at the stem which is needed when you're training on really long distances in order to keep your hands from getting so tired in the same position.


  2. This is kind of a vague questions since you aren't comparing them to anything. But if you are comparing them to using normal Road stuff, they will improve your times by  a little. The Aero Bars are a nice feature because it gives you a much better, more comfortable, riding position after you just swam and your arms are tired.

    Look for brands like Profile for the bars and Giro for the helmet. They both offer a wide range of prices for these.
