Tri-Hull Boat?

Question

I'm gonna be buying my first boat, and wanted to know if this particular boat is something i should be looking at.

I'm going to use it primarily to do some fishing in the ocean in Maine. A few times a year, i'll probably take some of my friends out, never more than six of them

Are Tri-Hull boats not designed for the ocean? I would'nt be taking it out too far off the coast.

Good lake & river runabout.  I've seen some off coastline

of Canada in water up to mild chop.  It comes into plane nicely enough but hull design will ship a lot of water aboard quickly.  Electric auto-pump and 5 gallon bucket bailing is

suggested.  Class 5 floatation decksuit over yellow PVC 2-piece is helpful as tri-hull promises to be a cold wet ride.  

70 horses thunder along so loud all aboard will be obliged to yell constantly.  Seawater mist will quickly cause wiring problems aboard usually starting at electrical connections.  Waterproof VHF might save you.  It isn't my idea of a Maine sea boat but go figure.

as far as A smoother ride goes the tri Hull is about the smoothest but for the ocean you will need a bigger boat, this boat is more for rivers and lakes, a good ski or fishing boat but not for seas over a foot and a half, the the tri Hull has a tendency to push the water forward as it comes don off a swell. you will get wet. I'm not sure of the waters you will be in, I am going from experience off the coast of south Florida and south Louisiana.

I understand the oceans off Maine can get pretty rough at times. The boat you have on your link is probably more comfortable in a lake or river or other protected waters.  I'm not sure I'd want to risk something like that in the open ocean... But of course, I'm a terrible swimmer.

Those boats will not carry 6 =4 with luck> Bay only> At that price you won't find a fishing hull to go off shore safely> Rent 1 then you won't have the issues with up keep>  S&H
