Tri Kusharjanto, Nadya Melati qualify for quarter-final round of Indonesia International Challenge
Mixed Doubles pair Tri Kusharjanto-Nadya Melati stretched its winning streak in Prim-A Indonesia International Challenge and earned the right to be in the quarter-final round on July 4, 2013.
This pre quarter-final tussle put them against a compatriot duo Angger Sudrajat-Ravenska Cintya Adifta who resisted for 44 minutes. Both native teams locked horns in local badminton arena of Surabaya and finished this encounter with final result of 20-22,
21-11 and 21-14.
Kusharjanto and Nadya were a bit sluggish in the beginning and this passive approach hit them hard in first set of match but they managed to rise on their toes in ending two games. Meanwhile, other Indonesian duo failed to repeat the history in final stages
and said goodbye to the home event.
The partnership of Angger and Ravenska looked at its best in the opening game as both shuttlers forged a fruitful chemistry and matched their rivals’ skills in all areas of the game. They played with great control in the establishing rallies and did not
allow the opposing shuttlers to gain an early advantage.
Both Mixed Doubles partners finished first half of the set with a competitive score and then remained close on the points table in most part of the second half. Finally, Kusharjanto and Nadya managed to wrap this segment of the showdown with a favourable
margin of 22-20.
However, it was end of road for them in this international series as the opposing shuttlers put their expedition to halt in very next game.
The twosome of Kusharjanto and Nadya did show any sign of bewilderment even after the first set loss and resumed their campaign with great conviction. They showed their intention by claiming back-to-back points in the establishing rallies.
This initial lead strengthened their grip over game and they did not find any trouble in sweeping the table with an impressive total of 21-11. This splendid win proved a real booster for them as they ruled the court also in third set of match.
They registered an overwhelming score of 21-14 and ensured their presence in the quarter-final round of Indonesia International Challenge.
