Hi. My doctor perscribed me TriNessa the birth control for my acne and to make my periods lighter. I'm 17 and I did it only for that reason. However it made me experience horrific headaches and I was getting sick to my stomach. The pain was unbareable so I stopped taking it. I started taking the pill the first day of my period as directed by my doctor. I stopped it 2 weeks later because of the headaches, but here its been 2 1/2 weeks and I still have my period. Is that normal?? I got my period when I was 9 years old and for a couple years it was regular but now it just seems like irregular. I'm just wondering if this is normal. Please help!!

  1. Normal. I had this with Trinessa and quit taking it. I had to start a new form of birth control (Nuva Ring) to get it to stop. Call your doctor and don't stress about it. Headaches, stomach pains and break through bleeding are number one side effects of this pill.
