Trifolium to make the most of the Ryan’s Cleaning Events Specialists Hurdle
The Grade 3 Ryan’s Cleaning Events Specialists Hurdle has attracted six runners who are four-year-old and above, for the two miles challenge on Thursday, 18th October at Punchestown. Their representation in a Grade 3 race represents a lot about their potential and eagerness to achieve more.
Not all but some do have hands on experience of racing at Punchestown.
The most promising entry for the race is the five-year-old bay gelding, Trifolium, who has been active in the racing career since the least three seasons. The French bay gelding has raced only four times during the new season, and has not driven down the third position through the outings.
He is set apart from the rest in the competition today due to the past exposure at the graded level.
He kick started the 2012 campaign with a second score in the Follow Navan On Facebook Hurdle on 15th January, 2012 at Navan over two miles. The first one through the ten hurdles was the favourite entry of the race, So Young, with Ruby Walsh onboard. The two defeated, Trifolium, by 7 ½ lengths.
The runner-up was paired with jockey, Davy Russell.
Goldneyev’s bay gelding then registered the first success of the season through the Grade 2 Racing UK Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle on 5th February, 2012 at Punchestown over two miles.
The favourite entry led the track as the first three furlongs went down, and maintained the poise over the nine hurdles while riding with jockey, Davy Russell.
Failing to claim the prize money of the race due to the nine length disadvantage was the runner-up, Simenon.
The composure of the five-year-old became unstable in the next two outings, however both ended with places.
He caught up with the third position in the Grade 1 William Hill Supreme Novices’ Hurdle on 13th March, 2012 at Cheltenham over two miles and half a furlong.
The track of eight hurdles saw Cinders And Ashes ending up at the winner’s enclosure while riding with jockey, Jason Maguire.
The very recent second position in the Grade 1 Evening Herald Champion Novice Hurdle on 24th April, 2012 at Punchestown over two miles has his chances surged to 1 to 2.
Davy Russell will guide him through the track distance.
