Trifollet tipped to thrive at Stratford – Hunters’ Chase Preview
Trifollet is expected to exhibit a momentous fight at Stratford racecourse on Monday, March 12 in an effort to win Warwickshire Hunt Novices’ Hunters’ Chase race.
Mrs Julia Martin’s bay mare looks to be a hot favourite among a dozen of runners who are going to compete in the Class 5 contest of 2m4f distance.
For £1,872 of prize money, Trifollet will run against Calgary Jock, Cherokee Star, Dunshane, Findlay’s Find, Harlaxton, Hideaway, Ice Cool Benny, Mayor Of Kilcock, Moment Present, Shalamiyr and Shinnecock Bay.
None of these runners possesses a promising track record and the same goes with Trifollet. But, comparatively, the seven-year-old mare seems to be somewhat solid.
Since making her debut in March 2010, the veteran runner had been winless till February 28, 2012 when she bagged the first and last triumph of her career at Leicester ground.
As a whole, the Andrew J. Martin-owned mare has run for five times to date. She usually comes to action after long intervals. Perhaps, this is the reason she has not earned as much successes as she can.
However, Trifollet’s last successful venture is supposed to have hiked her confidence to a great extent, and she is likely to extend her winning momentum to Stratford as well.
The mare has 75 percent chances to finish first again today provided she manages to capitalise on her capabilities well.
Among the other runners on the card, Moment Present and Ice Cool Benny look to be a little bit tough.
Moment Present has won 3 out of his total 27 races so far. Trained by C. T. Dawson, the gelding has been out of action since finishing third in his last start on May 12, 2011. His past record depicts that he will unleash sufficient resistance in today’s
marathon.
On the other hand, Ice Cool Benny finished 10th in his last start on January 26, 2012. Prior to this, the trainee of A. G. Hobbs had run for four times. The gelding has just one victory to his credit. He is also likely to run confidently today.
By and large, it will be a cool competition. Trifollet will not have to face any big difficulty in her way towards victory. Good luck to the mare.
