Let f(x)= sqrt[sin(e^(x^(5)cos(x))]

f '(x)=?

I get (cos(e^(x^(5cosx)))(e^(x^(5cosx)))(x^(5c... I checked it many times to see if I'm doing it right. Can anyone tell me where I made an error?

  1. No since your 'answer' did not make its way to the screen...

    f(x) = √ (sin{ e^(x^5 * cos x) } )----> f ' (x) = {1 / [2 √ (sin {e^(x^5 * cos x) } ) ] }

    * cos {e^(x^5 * cos x) } * {e^(x^5 cos x)] * [ 5 x^4 cos x - x^5 sin x]

    multiple uses of the chain rule...hopefully this is what you found

  2. I hope I copied the problem correctly.

    Here are links to the answer I got and the process used to get that answer.  They show the same work, but the first link is a pdf file while the second link is a Word document.
