I did my trig class in 4 weeks over the summer so I am having some trouble recalling everything as we went thru it so fast. So my question is sin^2(x) = (sin(x))^2 So that if x = 30 then (sin x) = .5 then (sin(x))^2 = .25 so does that mean sin^2(x) = .25 also?

  1. Yes, sin^2(x) and (sin(x))^2 both are equal (same thing, but different way of writing). So if LHS = 0.25 = RHS!

  2. Its not an equation but identity. Now find out what identity is.
