Trimethoprim side effects?

i started taking trimethoprim yesterday for a infection i have. i took my 1st tablet and i was fine but about 2 hours after i took my 2nd i began to feel very shaky and tired. when i woke up today it was gone and i have used trimethoprim once in the past and the same thing as happened. should i continue using them? and is the shakyness and tiredness a side effect?

  1. Brand name of this medication is called Septra.

    This is a sulfa drug, and i think you are having an allergic reaction.  PLEASE DO NOT take any more and call the dr !

    the symptoms that you mentioned sounded like that start of a fever. and Sulfa allergic reactions can be delayed.

    i had taken 10 days of it and then ended up with 105 fever in the hospital for 2 days- (kidney infection)- strange... now i cannot take it at all

    BTw once you have an allergic reaction to Sulfa, make sure you are not given Bactrim either.
