Trinidad & Tobago v Barbados - Trinidad Quadrangular T20, 2012 – Match Update
A timely half-century from Evin Lewis propelled Trinidad & Tobago to a narrow 5-wicket win, with zero balls remaining, over Barbados during the ongoing Trinidad Quadrangular T20, 2012, played at the Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad, on September
7.
Barbados won the toss and elected to bat first, with skipper and wicketkeeper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Navin-Derrick-Stewart-c78919
stepping in to send Edwards packing, and Kjorn Ottley taking care of Phillips.
They were followed to the crease by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sherwin-Ganga-c90004.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rayad-Ryan-Emrit-c84273, while Carter was sent back to the pavilion after being
run out by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashley-Nurse-c46329 (6*) at the crease, Barbados posted a final total of 154, at the expense of 5 wickets.
Despite the efforts of Barbados’ http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ryan-ONeal-Hinds-c87329 (4-0-27-2), who attempted to restrict the opposition by sending both openers back to the pavilion, Trinidad & Tobago reached 155 in a thrilling chase, with zero balls remaining at the end.
The team got off to a slow start, with openers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AB-Barath-c886 (32) setting up a partnership of 15 runs, which came to an end with the dismissal of Perkins at the hands of Hinds.
Barath, however, went on to team up with Player of the Match Lewis (69) for a 68-run stand, which was followed by a 54-run partnership between Lewis and Guillen (16) after Hinds took care of Barath. Their efforts got the team up to 137, after which Lewis
was dismissed by Carter while Guillen was bowled by Nurse.
However, the foundation had already been set, and all Trinidad & Tobago required from there onwards was a handful of small contributions from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stewart-c91370 (8*), and skipper Emrit (7*), to get them up to 155 with five wicket and zero deliveries
remaining.
