Trinniberg went all out in the Swale Stakes at Gulfstream Park
The 3-year-old Bisnath Parboo trained colt, Trinniberg, is finally coming to his own as the evidence was irrefutable, when the colt romped to a gate to wire finish in the Grade 3, $150,000 Swale Stakes at Gulfstream Park on 10 March, 2012, where he posted
the second win of his career in 6 starts.
Owned by Shivananda Parbhoo, Trinniberg in a field of 10 horses was up against some good horse, with the likes of Ever So Lucky, Quick Wit and Motor City in the lineup, they were always going to be rated above Trinniberg to take the Swale Stakes, but the
rampant colt proved everyone wrong when he got out on the track, and never looked back.
Swale Stakes marked as the 2012 debut for the son of Teuflesberg, out of mare Bella Dorato by Goldminer’s Gold, Trinniberg was sent off with the odds of 7 to 1.
The colt was in control of the race right from the word go, as he carved solid fractions of 22.65 seconds for the opening quarter mile and 45 seconds flat for the half mile marker.
Zooming past the six furlong pole, Trinniberg covered it in a quick 1 minute and 8.98 seconds en route to an easy front running six length victory, clocking the seven furlongs distance in 1 minute and 21.69 seconds, coupled with jockey Willie Martinez.
"Unexpectedly, we were out without much pressure," Martinez said. "We knew (Hello Prince) had tactical speed. This horse was a speed ball last year, which is why they took the blinkers off. He’s going to be a horse to watch this year. He’ll definitely be
able to stretch out. I don’t know how far he’ll be able to go, but he’ll get there quickly.”

Long shot, Hello Prince, finished a surprise second and sent as the 6 to 5 favourite, Ever So Lucky, finished third.
“We are very happy," said Ever So Lucky's trainer, Jonathan Sheppard. "Obviously, you like to win, but we hadn’t really been training him for speed like that. We’ve been trying to get a good bottom under him for longer races and two-turn races. I thought
it was a very good effort. He galloped out really well.”
Trinniberg had blinkers off in the Swale Stakes, and according to his trainer it made a big difference, as they were planning to take them off for quite some time now.
