Trio of clubs interested in Napoli midfielder Luca Cigarini: Serie A news
The agent of Napoli midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luca-Cigarini-c22510, has admitted that three Italian clubs are interested in signing his client.
The agent revealed that Serie A sides, Fiorentina, Palermo and Atlanta are the clubs interested in the midfielder. The 25-year-old is unsettled at the Stadio San Paolo and spent the 2010/11 campaign on-loan with Spanish side, Sevilla.
Cigarini failed to make an impact with Los Rojiblancos and managed to make only five appearances throughout the campaign.
The agent confirmed that he is waiting for a concrete interest from any side until then he will honour his contract with Napoli and continue to train. Manager, Walter Mazzarri has told the former Parma man to find a new club for
himself as he is not in his plans for the new season.
Talking to the reporters the agent said, “Atalanta would be a welcome solution. There was also an enquiry from Fiorentina and Florence could be an excellent place for his re-launch. There was also an interest in him from Palermo.
We’re waiting for developments.”
“Something should move in the last two weeks of August. Until then, Luca is acting like a true professional. He’s training hard and doing all that he can to convince Walter Mazzarri, but the player is not part of the Coach’s plans.”
The Azzurri have signed two new midfielders, Gokhan Inler and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marco-Donadel-c23690, and it has brought an end to Cigarini’s spell at the Naples based club. Mazzarri is looking to limit his squad to maximum of 24 players and is trying
to offload several fringe players.
Newcomers, Atlanta, are believed to be in pole position to re-sign the midfielder. His impressive performances for the Nerazzurri forced Napoli to make a move for him in 2009. Cigarini made 23 appearances for Atlanta and scored
3 goals too.
He had an impressive debut campaign with the Azzurri too but after that, he could not prove himself as a first-team starter. His impressive performances for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 in the 2009/10 campaign earned him a national team call-up in August
2010.
