I want to go from Mexico City to Cancun for a trip. The main goal is to see all the ruins on the way in maybe a two week period. Does anybody have any good routes, ideas, or past experiences to let me in on?

  1. Here is   a site that covers the the ruins in Yucatan peninsula. To o all the way from  Mexico city through the peninsula might be more than you could do in 2 weeks.  Hopw you hear from someone who has done it.

  2. take an airplane 2 cancun and prom there u can go to tulum and do a 1 day tour to chichenitza, theres a hospitality desk in each hotel with reps of all the agencies, they can help u

  3. It can be done, I've done it.  Are you renting a car and dropping it off in Cancun?

From Mexico City, drive to Puebla to see the large Pyramid at Cholula.  From Puebla, go to Oaxaca and see the ruins at Monte Alban and Mitla.  From there head to San Cristobal de las Casa--while there visit Na Bolom.  From there head toward Palenque, but along the way stop in Ocosingo to view the ruins at Tonina.  After Tonina, if it's hot you can stop for a swim at Agua Azul.  From there, it's 69 kilometers to Palenque.  Get a room in Palenque town and save the ruins for the next morning.  After visiting the ruins at Palenque head north to the main highway.  At the Pemex station turn left and head to Villahermosa.  In Villahermosa see La Venta Museum-Park and the Museo de Antropología Carlos Pellicer.  From Villahermosa go to Campeche.  Then between Campeche and Merida you can see the ruins at Edzna, Kabah, Labna and Uxmal.

After a night in Merida, head to Chichen Itza.  Then depending on how much time is left, you can head straight to Cancun or explore the Yucatan peninsula some more.
