  1. For that time of year you need to be ready for just about anything weather-wise (cold, hot, and rain at the very least) so it's best to have a light nylon jacket or windbreaker and to dress in layers if it gets cold.  So pack a pair of jeans or khakis, at least one sweatshirt, and then T-shirts/tanks and shorts.  Be sure to take swimsuits -- you're sure to get at least one day where it's warm enough to hit the pool or a water park.

I find that carrying a backpack really helps.  You can easily carry items like sunscreen, an umbrella, bottled water, snacks, MP3 players, digital cameras and/or camcorders, various over-the-counter medications (you never know when you may need Tylenol or Imodium or something like that) etc., and you can also store jackets and warmer clothing in backpacks.  It's also handy storage for souvenirs, park schedules, and anything else you can think of.  And don't worry -- all the rides have places where you can stow your backpack.

  2. We go to DW every year for Easter break...the last two years have been during March.  Usually, the weather is ideal at this time of year...warm, but not too hot.  This year (2008) we had an unseasonably warm weekend with temps in the mid-90s.  But normally, you will be able to do t-shirts, shorts, capris (for the girls) and probably tank tops.  Bring something long-sleeved and pants for the evening...it can get chilly watching the fireworks at night.  It is also a good idea to bring some kind of "packable" windbreaker/rain jacket.  While the weather is usually pretty dry during March, having something to wear then pack up in case of a morning shower is a good idea.

I recommend bringing snacks in a backpack to the park.  DW is very lenient about bringing in food, so long as it is not in a full-blown picnic cooler or a rolling cooler.  We use an insulated picnic backpack and pack Pringles (the can keeps the chips from getting crushed) and uncrustable PBJ sandwiches (you can put them in the backpack frozen and by the time the kids are ready to eat them, they're thawed).  We also packed some sandwiches, cheese sticks, goldfish & pretzels to snack on.  We put everything in ziploc bags and then in plastic containers to keep everything from getting squished.  We then use the plastic containers to store all of our trash.  The nice thing about doing this is that you can snack/lunch while in line for a ride and save the time of standing in line for a meal for the whole family (and then hunting for a table).  You can buy beverages from carts all over the park and there are usually short lines there.  Then spend some quality time later for a nice, sit-down dinner (make reservations in advance, if possible).  And of course, don't forget the Mickey head ice cream!  Get that every chance you get!

Don't forget sunscreen and some portable personal fans (the water bottle kind are nice...they sell them at the parks and you can bring them back year after year).  Even though the temps aren't super-hot, the sun is still shining brightly so you can still get sunburned and overheated.

Enjoy your trip...we'll be there a few weeks later! :)
