Question:

Trip to Ireland (Dublin and then Budoran, Donegal Co.)?

I'm going to fly from Italy to Dublin tomorrow with my family, will spend the night there, then drive to Bundoran for the next week for a surf trip.

I've got two daughters, ages 6 and 15. Are there any problems with bringing children into pubs and/or restaurants?

Has anyone got any info on the waterworld in Bundoran..i.e., is it worth taking the kids to?

I want to make the most of this trip and see and do as much as possibile, but I don't want to stress the kids too much...so, any ideas?

Thanks :-)

  1. hello i go to bundoran nearly every summer

and waterworld is fantastic for kids that age, great slides and a great wave machine.

but also while you're there look out for the cinema it's always empty and you have the whole theatre all to yourself i spend most of my time in there relaxing

and the kids in pubs is fine it's ireland remember.

and there's a nice pub called the kicking donkey with a hanging kicking donkey on the wall. lol i've never been in but the donkey amuses me lol

and then there's all the usual like ten pin bowling and fun fair and all the gift shops and the surfing shop ofcourse.

hope you have a good time!!!

  2. There arent really any problems except Dublin is somewhere where a lot of people in england go for their hen and stag nights or just travel for the weekend to get drunk so there will be A LOT of loud and drunk english people there im afraid! thats really only in the city centre though so if youre taking them out to pubs and restaurants out of the main city centre it wont be so bad. Sorry I dont know anything about the waterworld but I would say try to avoid the pubs on a nights at all costs!

  3. There are loads of places to go in Bundoran.  There is surf co, http://www.bundoransurfco.com/  The adventure centre is also meant to be v good. http://www.discoverbundoran.com/Article_...

Enjoy!  I live near to Bundoran and I don't think there will be any probs bring kids into pubs or restraunts as its a holiday resort it is child friendly.  A few places aren't but you will know these...

  4. there shouldn't be any trouble bringing them into pubs, during the day at least,  pub food is usually nice and inexpensive. the national aquatic centre is MUCH closer to dublin! be prepared for crappy roads and over-priced everything, and it's raining here at the moment so bring warm clothes!
