Trip to Ireland? Home exchange, ever heard of it?

Dear traveler,

I'm trying to plan an exciting trip to Ireland for my fiance and I. I've looked at Hotels and Bed and Breakfast places, although nice, they are not only expensive but... I'm looking for something more personable. I want us to get the full Irish experience when we are there...

So I've been thinking, how cool would that be if we could find a n Irish couple/ family to stay with while we were there!

They could show us all the coolest places, and teach us how to make true Irish food! That would be the ultimate experience!

See I want this to be an amazing trip because my fiance is Irish, he is an "ODea". And the whole purpose of the trip is to find his roots and where his family came from. My fiance doesn't have any family besides his sister and mother...

This trip would mean the world to him.

I've looked up 'home exchanges' but i think they stay in your house while you are in theirs...

hmmmmm.... I'm stumped. Any ideas???

Thanks so much!

  1. Try CouchSurfing - it's a site where you can stay with someone in another country for free.  You register with the site and search for people who are in the place you want to go to, and you could probably find someone who's willing to show you the sights as well.
