Trip to Mexico + shopping?

I'm thinking of going to Mexico, I've been before but this time im going with friends and not family and they're not looking to sight see, they want to shop.

Anyway, im trying not to stray too far from the (California) border and i was wondering where the best shopping in that part of Mexico would be?

In Tijuana just after the San Ysidro port of entry.

Well good luck, the best place for general shopping is the Plaza Rio. It is close enough to the US border but far enough away from the tourist traps.

If by car follow the signs to "Insurgentes" and then you will see the large round building it is a museum. Go around, the Abraham Lincoln statue and you are right there you can't miss it.

If walking, take a cab. Tell them "Plaza Rio" ask him for the fair up front it should not be more than five dollars.

Ensanada is not to far and nice.  Take the toll road down its a nice drive.
