  1. Valencia is a nice place to visit. This summer the America's Cup sailing event will be held there. A visit to La Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias a modern acropolis in Valencia is also a must visit attraction. The biggest aquarium of Europe is there. Check also eye shape Imax building. The train between Barcelona and Valencia or Madrid to Valencia takes between 2 and 3 hours depending of the type of train.

Another nice city to visit is Segovia. You can reach Segovia by train or bus from Madrid.  Is a beautiful city, Italian style in my opinion, with a nice castle The Alcazar , historic Cathedral and the Roman Aqueduct.. The city is walkable and you can find good places to eat. Toledo is another place to visit but is more touristic. The Ave speed train can take you there in 1/2 hour.

Check RENFE for trains schedules and prices.

    Buen Viaje.

  2. A good day trip from Barcelona would be Stiges or Tossa Del Mar, both are beach Cities.  Seville is far from both Barcelona and Madrid.  Valencia is pretty nice and it is fairly close to Madrid.  you will enjoy anywhere you go in Spain, great people, great food, beautiful country.
