Trip to cancun for a week; how much should i bring?

I will be going to cancun very soon with a friend for a week. the hotel is all inclusive but i wanted to do some fun activities and buy few gifts. I wanted to know how much items are in Cancun and how much should i bring too. I spent alot of money on clothes and dont have much with me. But would i need alot?

JUst take a couple hundred in small US currency, then use your ATM card to get pesos as you need them from an ATM machine, they are all over Cancun.

i just got back from cancun i was there for a week and i did lots of stuff heres a good idea if you wana do turist attractions like going to the pyramids i recomend tulum and chichennitza its beautiful . i bought my tours before going and it was cheaper go to www.cancuntravel.com its reliable and it worked out very good for me and my friend they picked us  up at the hotel..... ok for other activities just get them over there in cancun take about 600 dollars dont exchanged them in pesos becus they all use dollar over there . and if u use ur debit card call ur bamk to let them know cus if not the atm will not give it back to u it happen to my friend have fun its beautiful over there =)

My husband and I went in March and took about $600 with us.  We didn't go to any of the clubs or bars though.  We bought souvenirs and T-shirts for our entire family....6 kids, 8 adults.  We ate at Senor Frogs one afternoon.  We took the bus up and down the hotel zone strip to the mall and Walmart one day.  It's cheap and safe.
