  1. You will spend all 3 days in a car if you do that.  Los Suenos is like a 2 hour drive from the airport with lots of winding roads and almost no chance to pass trucks if you get behind one (ie you will eventually do it form frustrtaion but at great risk).  nice hotel, but you might as well go to Miami Beach if that's what you want.  You should probably go to Monteverde for the whole time, it's a nice place with nice facilities and real rainforest.  the beach is for longer trips and you can do that anywhere.

  2. We live about 2 miles from the Marriott it is beautiful good choice check it out on the internet you guys are going to love it ....My husband and I just retired in c.r. and we are loving the coast .

    have fun

  3. If you're going to the Arenal Volcano area, I would HIGHLY recommend the Lost Iguana Resort for a couple of days. It's so beautiful, not very expensive, close to lots of different excursions (canopy tour, hanging bridges) and you'll have a completely unabstructed view of the volcano from your balcony. Check out their website www.lostiguanaresort.com

  4. If by Friday to Sunday you mean 3 days then you better pick 1 place and thats it.  Driving from San Jose to Arenal and then going to Tamarindo and Back to San Jose will take you 3 days without having time for any activities.  That will be roughly 13 hours of driving time

If your sister is at the Los Suenos enjoy a few days over there and start planning your next trip to Costa Rica with a minimum of 10 days to see volcanos, cloud forests, raging rivers and wildlife.
