Trisha Hegde beats Nikita Ramesh to earn glory at Karnataka State Ranking Badminton Tournament
India’s passionate junior shuttler Trisha Hegde did not disappoint her home fans as she played impressive badminton and managed to win the Girl’s Singles U13 title at the Belgaum 3 Star Karnataka State Ranking Badminton Tournament 2012 in India, on Tuesday,
September 4.
The higher ranked Trisha proved her worth in the title match when she overpowered her un-seeded country-mate Nikita Ramesh after working extra hard on court.
The impressive Trisha, who was the top seeded shuttler in Girl’s Singles U13 draw of the championship, played to her maximum potential and remained successful in winning the battle in a narrow fashion.
The in-form Trisha took the opening set with a wonderful ease but failed to live up to expectations and lost the following set. Nevertheless, she put up staggering show in the deciding game and claimed the title by ending up the match in just 25 minutes.
On the other hand, Nikita played remarkable badminton and put her rival in all sorts of trouble by remaining focused on court. But she failed to stretch her giant killing run on court as she could not put up strong show in the final set and eventually lost
the battle in a respectable fashion.
The first game was a nightmare for the lower ranked Nikita as the top seeded Trisha played with incredible speed and took an early lead without taking much time.
The spirited Trisha remained positive on court and took a superb lead until the one-minute break.
After the mid-game interval, the impressive Trisha continued her killing run without facing any interruption and took the set with a huge margin of 21-11.
In the second game, Nikita showed her brilliance as she remained toe-to-toe against her higher ranked team-mate until the end of opening half.
After the mid-game interval, Trisha tried to dominate the pace of rallies but failed and lost the game with a reasonable 18-21 score on the board.
In the deciding set, Trisha was everywhere on court as she became quick and took the bird early from all areas which helped her to take the game with a one-sided score of 21-7.
Trisha emerged as the winner in this title match against Nikita by a 21-11, 18-21 and 21-7 margin on score board.
