  1. Ivory-billed Woodpecker a lazarus species, a species that is rediscovered alive after being considered extinct for some time.


  2. Lazarus was dead and in the tomb and even starting to stink when Jesus called him out!

    With that in mind I would think that it is a species, once thought to be well and truly extinct but later found to be alive.
