What are the only two (english language) words that are homophones (words that sound the same) BUT ALSO antonymns (words that are the opposite)?

    To cut up and to cling to.

  3. I think there may be more, but here are two:

    1.) raised and razed (the first means to put up, the second means to tear down)

    2.) oral and aural (the first meaning spoken, the second meaning heard.

    Oh - and this may be a stretch but...

    reckless and wreckless (the first meaning causing damage, the seconding meaning never causing damage.)

  4. Raise and Raze

    Raze: To tear down

    Raise: To construct; lift up

    OR

    Sucker and Succor

    Sucker: To fool to mislead

    Succor: To aid to comfort to render assistance

  5. If there are only 2, it's raised and razed.

    The others mentioned either have significant differences in pronunciation (sucker and succour) or can only be called antonyms at a very long stretch.

    Reckless doesn't mean causing damage, it means being unconcerned about whether damage is caused or not - not caring or not thinking about consequences. Wreckless means a place without wrecks.
